CoronaVirus: Ghana Reports 4 New Cases

The president announces a ban on all public activities as Ghana records new case of Coronavirus.


The president of the Republic of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo – Addo has announced a total ban on all public gatherings including conference, workshops, funeral, festivals, political rallies, and church activities and all related activities starting on Monday 16th March, 2020 as part of measure to stop the spread of the Convid – 19 (coronavirus) in the country.

The president in his address on Sunday announced that the ban will be in force for the next four weeks. This is due to the increase in cases of the coronavirus. The number of coronavirus cases in Ghana has risen to six cases as of Sunday.



On Sunday, 15 March 2020 the ministry of information in a press briefing announced the development of the new cases. The announcement was made by the Director of Public Health at the Ghana Service, Dr. Badu Sarkodie. According to the report, two more cases were recorded after Thursday. The two cases were confirmed on Friday, March 13, 2020, one in the Greater Accra Region and the other in the Ashanti Region.
