Nicki Minaj took to Twitter on Monday to announce that she and the rest of Young Money would pull out of this year’s BET Awards and BET Experience.

She was set to perform as a headliner along side Cardi B at the BET in June later this year.

As quoted on Twitter, the Chun-Li hitmaker said: “Young Money will no longer be apart of the BET Experience or award show,” "Summer Tour dates dropping soon."

This was as a result of a tweet made by BET saying "Cardi B Is The First Solo Female Rapper To Win Best Rap Album and Fans Are Weeping" which was deleted in a hurry after it received backlash from fans.

The publication's tweet read, "Meanwhile Nicki Minaj is being dragged by her lacefront."

Fans immediately called out BET for the insensitive post.

One fan wrote: "Nicki Minaj didn't revive a whole genre, write her own raps for over a decade, & bring y'all ghetto ass awards show viewers for y'all to disrespect and bully her like this."

Another fan added: "Nicki Minaj has been at the top of her game for way too long to not have had a Grammy. I don't know what white man from the boards she pissed off." This is what sparked Minaj's Grammys post.

BET has offered an apology to Nicki Minaj following backlash from fans.

The publication from BET reads:

"BET loves Nicki Minaj. We have supported her from the very beginning of her career and will continue to do so moving forward. Nicki has paved the way for so many performers and has solidified her place as one of the most powerful figures in the music industry.

Unfortunately, the respect we have for Nicki was violated by this post that should never have been written. The post does not reflect how we feel about Nicki. And further does not reflect our company values.

We deeply apologize for the hurt, disappointment and confusion that this post has caused. We are committed to doing everything we can to address the situation. We are also conducting an internal audit to assure these types of posts are not published again. We have apologized to Nicki and her team. The post has been removed and we have taken additional appropriate action.

We understand Nicki’s position and look forward to continuing our dialogue with her. Finally, we apologize to all of her fans. This should have never happened."

However, it doesn't look like she's going back on her words as the harm has already been done and the wounds still looks fresh. It might take time or might just not happen.
