Jose Mourinho has accepted a one year prison sentence and a fine of close to €2.2 million after admitting to tax fraud in Madrid.

The former Man United boss was accused of evading taxes on image rights while he was head coach of Real Madrid.

However, the Portuguese will not spend any time in prison as sentences which are less than two years for most first-time offenders are usually suspended in Spain currently.

Mourinho will pay a €182,500 fine in exchange for serving no jail time.

Mourinho was accused of using offshore companies in Ireland, the British Virgin Islands and New Zealand to conceal his earnings while resident in Spain.
